Keeping up with the conversations is a regular article following up on our monthly feature with business leaders across Worcestershire in County Lifestyle and Leisure Magazine. Keeping up with the conversations is a chance to catch up on the news with previous interviewees.

This month we hear from Daniel Walton at Olpro: 2020 has been an unforgettable year to say the least, and to sum it up is almost impossible. Daniel says:

Casting our mind back to the first months of 2020, the majority of the UK was faced with storms and flooding, and very soon after the awful weather conditions cleared up, the country was hit with the horrendous COVID pandemic which initially put a halt to almost all camping and holiday planning. However, when we could all finally start to go out and go camping again, campsites became instantly fully-booked from the increase in people who decided to go camping locally instead of going abroad. As a result of this increased popularity for camping, 2020 was an incredible year for OLPRO as a brand, and we have been able to grow the business a considerable amount in a very short space of time. Looking ahead, we expect to see another busy year and we anticipate that 2021 will once again be incredibly busy for campsites, as people opt for more camping ‘staycations’ this Summer.

Despite our success during 2020, we never got complacent, and we really focused on building our brand by promoting our products on a wider scale. We promoted our products Internationally, and we had a good amount of success in establishing our brand among a wider global audience. Our online presence also increased massively throughout 2020 and we had customers tagging us in amazing photos, from the serene surroundings of the Swiss Alps to the tropical settings of a Mexican beach – we’ve loved seeing where our products end up in the world.

We’ve also made a great effort to look after the people and environment around us. This year we put together our first OLPRO calendar with all profits donated to Make-A-Wish UK. We are incredibly proud to support such an amazing charity and want to help support as many children and their families as we can. We’ve also been working closely with Ecologi and, as a result, for every tent and awning we sell in 2021 we will plant a tree. We want to help give back to nature and look after our planet’s ecosystem, as we all love to go camping and enjoy what nature has to offer.

We’re celebrating 2021 as our 10th year in business and we are so surprised at how fast this has come around as well as how we’ve grown within this time, and we cannot wait to celebrate our birthday with our OLPRO community.
