Cotswold Business Connections raise over £1600 for charity

by | Dec 6, 2019

Our Cotswolds networking group raised over £1600 for Children’s Air Ambulance at the inaugural festive drinks and nibbles event hosted at The Lygon Arms, Broadway last night.

Together, we raised over £1600 for local charity the Children’s Air Ambulance.

Aiming to encourage and support trade in the region, local business owners Ruby Edwards, from You Do Better PR, and Peter Heming MD of the Heming Group, joined together to help boost trade in the area and host a monthly networking group over breakfast in Broadway. Launched in February 2019 and hosted at The Swan every 2nd Friday of the month, the breakfast meeting aims to introduce local professional contacts to each other throughout the Cotswolds in an informal and friendly way – no joining fee, no membership, simply a group of local people chatting about business over breakfast.

Anna Phillips from the Children’s Air Ambulance said:

“We are thrilled to have such great support for our charity. The national lifesaving service we provide to critically ill babies and children in need of an urgent transfer to a specialist paediatric intensive care unit is absolutely vital. We’re always looking for more companies to work with and this event has given us a great opportunity to raise awareness and meet new contacts.”

Erika Steward, Director at the award-winning venue said:

“We were excited to participate in the recent event which supported the Children’s Air Ambulance and are delighted by the amount raised for this extremely worthwhile charity. The local community is of paramount importance to the hotel and we were very pleased to be able to contribute towards such a wonderful cause”.

If you’re thinking about joining a local business network but don’t want to pay a membership fee or other hidden costs, Cotswold Business Connections could be the group for you. Join us at our next meeting on Friday 10th January 2020 from 7-9am at The Swan, Broadway. Go to our Cotswold Business Connections page for more information and to book or click for all the pics!
