Back to school

by | Jan 21, 2019

I went back to school this morning to chat with the year 12 students about careers, business and opportunities as part of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership’s Enterprise Advisor role.
The local LEP has Enterprise Advisors in place to support Worcestershire’s Careers and Enterprise Programme.
Since 2012, the Worcestershire LEP has specifically focussed on and developed many delivery mechanisms to create workforce for the future. The activities have been focussed around three key areas to raise awareness of young people and providing them a practical taste of world of work; primarily:
• Working with employers to generate quality work experience opportunities to offer for Worcestershire’s high schools students,
• Improving the communications and interactions between schools and businesses,
• Providing mechanisms to support schools and young people in careers advice.
Find out more about the scheme here and watch out for our ‘In conversation with’ article interviewing Gary Woodman, CEO of the LEP, to be featured in a future edition of County Lifestyle and Leisure Magazine.
